For this price range, the microphone is good, but not extraordinary. So never expect an excellent call quality from this headset. Recording Quality The other nice feature is that Sony has employed a USB-C connection for charging. USB-C is slowly phasing out Micro-USB connections, as they’re sturdier and easier to plug in. And according to my colleagues, they’ve proven to charge faster as well.

Even with careful usage, you can expect dust and earwax collecting in the nozzle and negatively altering the sound quality. It’s a shame Sony didn’t bother to protect the drivers. The call quality sound is improved over Sony WH-CH510‘s disastrous performance, but it still isn’t great.

The Sony WI XB400 doesn’t provide only extra bass. Its overall sound quality is very exceptional at an affordable price. The WI-XB400 excels in this department, offering 15 hours of playtime. This beats the even pricier wireless earbuds, which usually only provide only 6 to 10 hours of use.

Bluetooth earbuds rely on SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs to transfer audio, with the latter being a default option on both Android and iOS. Is There an Audio Lag?The C200 has less bass. But it tends to sound a bit muddy and cluttered. Its treble sounds much more piercing than the XB400. The call quality on these Sony earbuds is about average. At times, the person on the other end found it difficult to hear us when we made calls in public places. There were no such complaints when these calls were made in quieter surroundings.

But OnePlus Z supports wired connection also. It provides fast charging of 10 minutes for 10 hours of music time. Since the Sony XB400 is a Bluetooth headphone, maybe you are thinking why I’m not explaining the Bluetooth yet. Do you need studio monitoring headphones? Never thinking of using these Sony WI-XB400 Wireless In-ear extra bass headphones for studio monitoring. It is the worst choice for that. Sony is also involved in films, music, and financial services, among the ventures. Its first consumer product was an electric rice cooker. Sony WI-XB400 apparently only come with 3 sets of ear tips, small, medium, and large. Interestingly, no matter which ear tip size you use, they all provide an equally tight seal. The Sony XB400 only supports SBC and AAC audio codec. But if it supported Aptx or Aptx HD, it would be great. During the course of this review, we used these Sony wireless earphones for extended periods of time and such usage didn’t result in any sort of discomfort. Sony bundles additional tips in different sizes and you can choose the one that works best.
