We are delighted to welcome Prue Leith to FarmED for what promises to be an enlightening, informative and mouth-watering evening!

The author is a renowned British cooking person and the book resulted from a year-long column she did that, if I understood correctly, was solely the name of the "toast" with a photo and readers were left to themselves to recreate using just the title and picture. For this book, along with the titles and lovely photos, there are written, easy to follow instructions. I loved that recipe/photo ratio was 100%, every "toast" was shown. Among her awards she has a DBE, 12 honorary degrees or fellowships from UK universities, the Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the year, and her restaurant, Leith’s, won a Michelin star. The truth is I love anything on toast. Scrambles (of course), bangers, beans, even tinned sardines. But the more I thought about it the more I realised that anything that tastes good on a plate – coq au vin, curry, steak, baked aubergines, smoked salmon and avocado, all taste even better on toast. Plus, if you have a long day ahead, bananas are filling enough to keep your cravings at bay right up until lunch. 6. Grilled PeachesThis is perfect if you want an especially sweet morning, and believe it or not; you can make your own with a blender, some white sugar, and cornstarch. You can also serve yogurt on the side or make it into a French toast sandwich with some fresh strawberries. Yum! 9. Smoked Salmon

There’s a reason why syrup is the most popular topping for French toast: it’s simply too good to resist! From sweet treats to savory bites, get your morning off to a delicious start with these French toast sides. Prue Leith’s career has included her own restaurants, catering and cookery school businesses; she’s been a board director of companies such as British Rail, Halifax, Safeway, Whitbread, Woolworths, and Belmond (ex-Orient Express) Hotels.

You’ll have the classic ingredients of ham or bacon, poached egg, cheese, and hollandaise sauce. And the base? French toast! You can also pair French toast and sausage links with fluffy scrambled eggs for a bigger and more filling breakfast! 8. Strawberry Yogurt

Mushrooms on toast…another win for the nostalgia as well as the taste. This recipe is close to what I already make but with a dash of flash that I am keen to incorporate.Granola will give any breakfast an extra satisfying crunch. You’ll also get lots of fiber and Vitamin E from the seeds and nuts! They go perfectly with many desserts, and they’re the ideal sweet and tangy topping for your French toast! Simply add them on top of your French toast, or go the extra mile by making baked peach French toast casserole. 7. Sausage Links What's more comforting and satisfying than toast? And if you top it with a few cleverly paired ingredients, it can be a full meal, not to mention pure bliss. To make it, you’ll want to bake your French toast in the oven. This gives it a more solid and less moist texture, but with the same delicious taste!
