I did enjoy the banter between Mac and Freya and I liked that they fought like an old married couple. If they have a disagreement, they don’t just run back into each other’s arms like any other romance novel – it’s a real time off involved. But with all of the lousy dating experiences she has had and the way she was raised with horror stories about The Sex, she is about to turn thirty and anxious. I also feel that you're guaranteed an enjoyable, low drama read when you pick up a book by this author.

She's plus-sized in body and spirit, and other than her friendship with Mac, talking to the opposite sex is one skill she never mastered. I level him with a stare and angrily state, “I am a short, round Cornish seamstress with a West Country accent that only gets thicker when I’m flustered. One of the things that saved this book from being DNF'd was when Mac decides to leave to go to Glasgow to be with his dying grandfather and the two of them end things on a terrible note and the constant angst between them not having a friendship anymore.And Mac did too but took a little longer and with a few kicks in the butt by his friend an grandfather.

As an almost 30-year-old living in LONDON OF ALL PLACES, you'd think she'd have more knowledge about sex and intimacy although she's a virgin.I bawled my eyes out, probably, because the story hit close to home but Amy didn't shy away from the difficult topic. Mac is a tall, tatted, and built Scotsman who plays football for a living, there's no way he would be interested. Body positivity isn’t a woman constantly putting herself down over her own size relentlessly to make her “self aware”, who then finds a guy who finds her hot so yay, now she’s allowed to be slightly less mean to herself because some rando finds her hot and validates her body as worthy. When he learns that Freya is a virgin, I was swooning that he wanted to teach her and take care of her before she found someone she wanted to be with. Freya and Mac attend a gathering of their friends and with a little game of Never Have I Ever, a lot of drinking and a streak of jealousy, Mac discovers a couple of things about his Best Mate.
