While not necessary, the expansion Match Madness Extreme is a great addition to the base game for players looking for an even bigger challenge. Since, I noticed some people posting that they have completed match madness with over forty five seconds to spare.

If a player grabs the card without making a correct match, they put the card back and sit out while the others continue to try to solve the pattern. I actually enjoy the Match Madness, although it’s tricky because there are sometimes word groupings that require some inference from the player as to which answer is correct. It can be played alone by just simply trying to recreate what's shown on the puzzle cards, or up to 4 players to race and recreate a match the quickest. I’m still rocking the original Match Madness at the moment, so I can’t comment on how difficult this is. The varying levels of patterns to recreate/match make this appropriately challenging for a range of ages, even adults. I’m all for learning new words and enjoy the competition but to have over 100 new words all in one day is ridiculous.This game allows for practice using picture cards and physical blocks in color/shape sorting, pattern recognition, spatial relationships, and processing speed. While great for kids, it’s also fun for the whole family — mom and dad will undoubtably enjoy playing along and racing the kids as well! The hard puzzles are quite challenging: they have exactly one solution, and you must get every block in the perfectly correct orientation (many blocks have similar sides). using an xp boost on it to sort of up the personal stakes since someone was trying to be competitive with me in my league. Since multiple kids can play at the same time, you can give out a stack of cards to each kid and they can all work on their own at their own pace if that is of more interest to them!
