When it comes to this Chanel Coco Noir and even just with the two very light sprays, I can smell this on me all day long.

COCO NOIR celebrates this paradoxical statement by using a deep black to bring a dazzling femininity to light. Beautiful fragrance, it begins fresh and spicy, then becomes richer, darker oriental with a floral touch, it dries down with a beautiful rose note embraced with sandalwood. With that said, this DNA is not best suited for me, although my mom effortlessly rocks this as her signature scent and I love it on her. This is an easy reach most days, inoffensive, not particularly unique (though that's not a bad thing).Everything changed when it became cooler, I started to feel the harshness of patchouli and geranium and the smell in general transformed into the “mature”( don’t like this adjective in terms of perfumery but this happened to be the most suitable word))) one. It’s a nice warm scent suitable for colder weather but the patchouli note is just too strong for me. As with all Chanel, your skin is what completes the scent and transforms it into something so utterly addictive due to its intoxicating complexity. The top notes of Coco Noir include grapefruit, tart bergamot, and orange, leading to heart notes of rose, geranium, intoxicating patchouli, and enchanting jasmine. And it has the bonus of not being as popular, ‘cause I personay hate smelling my own perfume on everyone else.

Initially I felt a bit indifferent about it because I love sweet gourmand scents but it has grown on me tremendously. I paired this with tweed skirts and long trench coats and my round tort glasses and felt very sophisticated and dark. I've sat on my bottle for a couple of weeks, and I think it's a scent that sticks VERY close to your personal bubble. What were they trying to create,a cross between Coco and Coco Mademoiselle or a watered Eau Mademoiselle cologne? I love Chanel perfumes and I'd seen a few influencers rave about this so instead of testing this on a card first, I went and sprayed it on my wrists - being so sure I would love it.

They vastly tone down the clove note I HATE in perfumes (if only I liked it, because it sounds like Coco EDP and EDT have far superior longevity), which I appreciate, but…. Chanel is perhaps the most prominent in the world of perfumes thanks to the timeless Chanel N°5 but also to the more recent creations Gabrielle and Coco Madmoiselle. The opening blast is a fresh and beautiful grapefruit/ orange, then you smell rose and jasmine, and it settles into a luscious vanilla/ clean patchouli/ musky skin scent with hints of spice (clove).

And if I did not know that it was an offspring of the house Chanel I would just perceive it as failed dupe for Mademoiselle. This is hamburger being sold as tenderloin to the newbies uninterested in or conscious of what real Chanel is - or was. The Parfum is the most precious version of the Luminous Oriental housed in the iconic CHANEL Parfums bottle hand-sealed with a black wax stamp. I was expecting something like Coco Mademoiselle meets YSL Black Opium - a Coco Mad for evening wear but this is nothing like any of that.I am pleasantly surprised by Coco Noir, but in my opinion it's more similar to Coco Mademoiselle rather than the original Coco. This fact is undeniable and accomplished, so from it, one should expect a stubborn behavior and a stubborn, brightly expressed character, demanding to be matched and kept high. In particularly hot weather I use only the body lotion, but 90% of the time I like to layer the body wash, body lotion and perfume.
