The bass (mid-bass in particular) is clearly boosted and weightier, but it doesn’t feel out of line and doesn’t cause the mids to sound overly recessed, pushed back, or lost.

The K371 has a smoother, fuller sound, the SHP9600 sounds more technical and brighter, but they don't sound Grado or Beyer bright, just brighter than the K371. At an impedance of 32ohms and a sensitivity of level 101dB/mw, I found myself being able to drive these with virtually everything I powered them with. Vocals and instruments still stand out, sounding very lively, intimate, and engaging, but in my opinion, these mids aren’t as good as the 9500. The metal headband does adjust to accommodate a number of head sizes, which is nice, and there's also some mesh padding on the bridge to cushion your cranium. The 560S’s band looks closer to the ones on the 559 and adjacent gaming headsets (Game One, PC37/38X), with some sort of divot in the middle. BTW the 95 and 96 and very different sounding headphines, now I could see me having both of them, bass, treble, tone very different. The headband is reinforced with durable steel, which adds just the right amount of tension for a secure fit.

the debate rages on whether this is my brain becoming acclimated to the sound, or if burn-in is a real thing. Right away you’ll notice that the 9600 is more compact all around, with a slightly tighter clamp force that feels quite incredible on your head. The good news is that the SHP9600 uses 50mm Neodymium dynamic drivers and carries a 32-ohm impedance making them acceptable to use with both headphones and laptops. They lack the same resolution, refined treble, and precise imaging that the HD 650 demonstrate, but they sound less muddy and congested. The treble is a little more grainy and unrefined compared to both the Sennheiser HD 650 and Audeze LCD-2. I think that this is a result of both its imaging and layering, which are two categories where I think the SHP9600 performs really well.

Philips SHP9600 Review – A Waste Of Time And Money? Philips SHP9600 Review – A Waste Of Time And Money?

I would say that the mids on the SHP9600 have a very balanced, natural sound that only really felt like it deviated very slightly at two different spots. where my impressions of my KZ ZST have a more cleaner bass sound where i can hear and distinguish different instruments clearly and my Philips shp9600 have specific genres that these are better on but the bass are more muddy and i cant distinguish sounds clearly. I live in a warmer climate and I find that the sound of my fan and the outside world from my open windows decrease the sound quality of these headphones quite a bit since these are open back headphones and much of the sound in my surroundings can seep into the sound.Even despite all of this, the 9600 can work pretty well in a gaming setup and still retains some value with its 3. Then, for instrument separation the SHP9600 really impressed me, as all the different elements that composed the music I listened to were exceptionally well-defined and distinguished within the soundscape.
