About this deal

Fitzpervert left a hair ball in my slipper, I burned my earlobe with the straightener, and when I opened the door to leave for school, I caught my next-door nemesis suspiciously sprawled across the hood of my car. By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. The mind-bending plot shares a lot in common with Dick’s novel, but the atmosphere, and particularly Rutger Hauer’s charismatic blond droid Roy Batty, cemented Blade Runner’s legacy as the parent of all cyberpunk films that would follow, though few would be quite as prophetic.

I honestly don’t think a book has ever made me smile so much; I’m sure I was grinning from ear to ear pretty much the entire time I was reading .

I felt closer to my mother when I watched them; it felt like a tiny piece of her was there, watching beside me. She's having a really hard time with all of the "last" moments that high school has to offer and can't find a way to talk about it with her dad or best friend.

Culkin plays Michael Alig, a brazen party organizer who brags about killing his roommate and drug dealer, Angel. In Kubrick’s chilly film, it is impossible to ever fully grasp, which makes the story both more disturbing and open to endless reinterpretation. She also struggles to include her stepmom in her life as she navigates all of the "lasts" of senior year without her mom.

It was supposed to be poster-board promposals, matching corsages, speechless awe over the way you look in your dress, and sweet kisses under the cheesy disco ball. This is important and I wish the description had mentioned it: Liz's mom died in a car accident when she was in the fifth grade. The novel tells the story of Liz Buxbaum, a senior in high school with a passion for romance movies inherited from her late mother.

A romantic comedy is quoted at the beginning of each chapter, and characters watch and/or discuss romcoms. Better Than The Movies is a super cute YA contemporary novel and it’s light-hearted, fast to read, and addictive. Liz often finds herself at odds with her best friend, Joss, her neighbor, Wes, and her stepmom, Helena. She asks her neighbour and childhood frenemy Wes to help her out in exchange for the good parking spot they’ve been fighting over for months. The annoyingly attractive next-door neighbor might seem like a prime candidate for romantic comedy fantasies, but Wes has only been a pain in Liz's butt since they were kids.I have been steadily working my way through Lynn Painter’s backlist and now after this one I think I only have one more book to read before I have to join the queue of people who are awaiting each new publication. I really like books where it’s so obvious the guy has feelings/a crush and the female character just literally cannot see it, no matter what he does. But as Liz and Wes scheme to get Liz noticed by Michael so she can have her magical prom moment, she's shocked to discover that she likes being around Wes.
