WhatsTraining: an addon for World of Warcraft Classic that adds a list of available trainer spells to the spell book, so you can easily know when to seek a class trainer out. Spells you already know are moved to the bottom. Mousing over a spell will show you its tooltip, with the cost to train attached to the bottom. Mousing over a category header will show you the total cost of training of spells in that section. (Note: This does not show you what Pet Training abilities are available, just your own). Most hunter trainers will train all levels. However, the hunter trainers found in the 1-5 starter zones only train through level 6 abilities. These are noted on the Alliance and Horde Trainer Locations above.

Hunter trainers teach hunters new abilities for their class, as well as upgrading existing abilities. You can learn one new ability at level 1. After that, new trainer-learned abilities start at level 4, and can be learned every even-numbered level thereafter. One redeeming feature is that hunters in East Kingdoms can take the zeppelin from Undercity to Grom'gol, which lands right near the trainer (it's actually easier and shorter to do that than to go from Undercity to Orgrimmar, since the zeppelin tower is outside the city in Durotar). Difference between Retail and Classic: In Retail, you get new class abilities every so often when you go up a level. This happens automatically and you don't have to pay for these abilities. In Classic, trainers present new abilities every other level on the even-numbered levels starting with level 4, so you should plan to visit your class trainer when you gain an even-numbered level. You will also get upgrades (higher ranks) of existing abilities. These cost money, based on the level of the new ability or new rank.

The Pet Trainer teaches various ranks of the following abilities: ranks 3-7*, ranks 1-10, ranks 1-10, and five resistances , , , , and , all ranks 1-4. By visiting a , you can learn new abilities that you can teach your pet through . Each ability requires Training Points for your pet to learn. Your pet's training points are calculated by multiplying the pet's level by (loyalty rank-1). So if your pet is 40, and has a loyalty level of 6, your pet has 200 training points you can spend on abilities.Hunter class trainers serve an important role in leveling up your character in WoW Classic, teaching you new abilities and higher ranks as you level up. As you can see from the chart below, there isn't a set, predictable schedule on the availability of pet trainer abilities. It's a good idea to visit a pet trainer any time you visit your hunter trainer, just to be on the safe side.Pet Trainers are located near all Hunter Trainers, except in the 1-5 starter zones. There are no Pet Trainers there, which makes sense since Hunters cannot tame pets until level 10.
